Step 0 - Model Selection

Full HD model

Step 1 - Charging and Powering

Before setting up your module for the first time, it is essential to ensure that the power system is ready:

  • Loading Process: Connect the module to a charger 5V using the USB cable included in the box.
  • LED indicator: During loading you will see a steady red light on the device's circuit board.
  • Full Load: Once the battery is fully charged, the red light will turn off.
  • Continuous Mode: If you need 24-hour surveillance, you can leave the module permanently connected to the power supplyThis allows for continuous recording without worrying about battery life.

Step 2 - Inserting the microSD card

If, in addition to viewing the live image, you need the device to save video evidence, you must install local memory:

  • Installation: Insert a card microSD (up to 128 GB) in the side slot of the plate. Push it in carefully until you hear a click, which confirms that it has been blocked.
  • Important Note Regarding the Recording: By default, the system is configured to segment recordings into files of 5 minutes.
  • ⚠️ If the device It turns off or stops before completing a 5-minute cycle (for example, at 4 minutes), that video clip will not be savedEnsure the camera has a stable power supply to complete each recording cycle.

Step 3 - Power On and Off

Once the power and memory are ready, activate the module using the physical switch:

  • Activation: Slide the switch ON / OFF located on the side of the circuit board to turn on the camera.
  • Meaning of the lights:
    • 🔴 Red Light (Fixed): It indicates that the device is receiving power and the internal operating system is powered on.
    • (I.e.Blue light: It's the connectivity indicator. Its state (solid or flashing) will tell you about the WiFi signal or the connection to your router.
  • Off: To completely turn off the device, simply slide the switch to the position OFFBoth indicators will turn off.

Step 4 - Installing the App

To control the module and view images from your smartphone, you need to install the management software:

  • Download: Find the app "LookCam" in your device's official store (Android: Google Play Store / iPhone: App Store)

  • Permissions: When opening the application for the first time, it is essential accept all permissions requested (location access, notifications and storage). 

Step 5 - Local Connection

In this step, we will connect your mobile phone directly to the signal emitted by the module so that you can view it without needing a router:

  • WiFi synchronization: 1. Open your smartphone's Wi-Fi settings. 2. Search for and connect to the network that begins with "F..." (It has no password). 3. If your phone tells you that the network does not have internet access, select the option "Keep connected".
  • Access to the App: 1. Open LookCamThe device will be detected automatically. 2. A prompt will appear to configure your home Wi-Fi. If you only want to view it locally, tap "Cancel"If you want to have it ready to watch from outside your home, press "OK".
  • State and Security: 1. The device will appear marked as "On-line"2. Upon logging in, the app may suggest changing your password. You can do so or keep the default password, which is 1234356.

Step 6 - Remote Connection

To view the camera when you are not at the installation location, we need to link the module to your home or business router:

  • Access to Settings: On the main panel of LookCam, press the icon of the cogwheel (configuration) located next to the device.
  • Network Adjustment: Select option "WiFi Setting".
  • Network Selection: Choose your home WiFi network from the list that will appear.
    • Make sure it's a network of 2.4 GHz (the modules are not compatible with 5G networks).
  • Confirmation: Enter your WiFi password carefully and confirm the operation.
  • Restart and Synchronization: The module will restart to apply the changes. Observe the indicator:
    • Blue light flashing rapidly: The device is trying to connect to your router.
    • Steady blue light: Connection established. You can now view the live camera feed from anywhere in the world using your mobile data or any other network.

Step 7 - Functions from the App

With the module already configured and online, you have full control of security from the interface of LookCam:

  • Real-Time Transmission: View live video at any time by simply tapping the device image.
  • Motion Alerts: Activate the detection sensor to receive instant notifications on your mobile if the module detects suspicious activity.
  • Resolution setting: Change the video quality according to your needs or the speed of your connection to ensure smooth viewing.
  • Video History: Consult, play and manage the stored recordings on the microSD card remotely, without needing to remove the card from the module.

Step 8 - Reset

If you decide to change your router, have changed your WiFi password, or the module doesn't appear in the app, you must perform a full reset:

  • With the module onLocate the small button of Reset on the motherboard.
  • Use a paperclip or a thin object to hold the button down for 5 seconds.
  • Confirmation: You'll know the process has been completed correctly when you see that the The lights go out completely.
  • The device will revert to its factory settings and resume broadcasting its own Wi-Fi signal (the one that starts with "F..."). You can now repeat the setup process from the Step 5:.

Full HD Plus Model - Wide Angle

Step 1 - Preparation and First Load

Before starting the setup, it is important to properly prepare all components to ensure stable operation from the first use.

Battery connection:

  • Locate the battery connector and the camera module connector.
  • Connect them respecting the color of the cables: black on black and red on red.

Initial charge:

For optimal performance in the initial configuration:

  • Connect the charging cable to the corresponding port on the module.
  • Use an adapter 5V and 2A.
  • Leave the device charging for 5 to 6 hours.
  • A full charge beforehand helps prevent restarts or disconnections during WiFi setup.

Step 2 - Inserting the microSD card

If you want to store recordings locally and not just watch live, follow these steps:

  1. Enter a card microSD (up to 128 GB) in the side slot of the module.
  2. Press it gently until you hear the click, which confirms that it is correctly positioned.
  3. To ensure compatibility, it is recommended that the card be formatted in FAT32 or exFAT.

Step 3 - Installing the app

To manage the camera, you need to use the Tuya Smart platform:

  • Download: Search the app "Tuya Smart" on Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iPhone) and download it to your smartphone.
  • Initial setup: When you open it, accepts all permissions required to ensure the proper functioning of alerts and connectivity.
  • Access: Log in with your credentials or Create an account New if this is the first time you're using the app.

Step 4 - System Power On and Status

Once charged and with the battery connected, activate the device to start synchronization:

  1. Slide the module switch to the position ON.
  2. Initially you will see a steady red light which indicates that the system is starting up.
  3. After a few seconds, the red light will disappear and a new one will appear. blue light flashing rapidly.
  4. This rapid blue blinking is a sign that the camera is emitting its own technical WiFi signal and is ready to be linked to the application.

Step 5 - Remote Connection

Follow these steps to link the module to your home network and allow access from anywhere:

    • In the side menu, look for the category “Camera and blocking”.
    • Choose “Smart security camera (Wi-Fi)”.
  2. Select the configuration mode
    • In the top right corner, make sure it is selected WiFi Mode.
    • Balance "Following" until you reach the mode selector screen and choose AP mode.
  3. Choosing your home WiFi network
    • Select your home WiFi network (it must be 2.4 GHz).
    • Enter the password and press "Next".
  4. Camera network connection

Step 7 - Reset

If you have problems during setup, change routers, or the camera doesn't broadcast its own WiFi network:

  1. With the camera on, locate the reset button.

Step 8 - Turn Off

When you wish to deactivate the device:

Frequent Problems

Why won't the camera connect to Wi-Fi?

  • Network Compatibility: Verify that you are using a network of 2.4 GHz (the camera is not compatible with 5G networks) and make sure the password is correct.
  • Network name: Check that your Wi-Fi network name only contains letters and numbersSpecial characters may cause connection errors.
  • Error indicator (Wide Angle Model): If after performing the configuration the The blue LED continues to flash rapidly.This indicates that an error has occurred. In this case, it is necessary to restart (Reset) and reconfigure.
  • Matching failure: If the process fails in any model, try performing the linking using the AP mode or restart the camera to start over.

Why is the video choppy?

  • The smoothness of the image depends on your connection. Adjust the video quality in the application according to your network speed; if the transmission is interrupted, try selecting a lower resolution.

Why aren't the videos being saved?

For proper operation, always make sure to use a card microSD Class 10. Furthermore, it is essential format it from within the application itself before first use to ensure file system compatibility.

I forgot my password, how do I fix it?

  • If you do not remember your access code, press the reset button for 5 seconds to restore factory settings.
  • In the LookCam app the default password is: 123456

It is recommended to change the default password before you start using the camera.

Why doesn't the app show the recorded videos?

  • This is most likely due to decoding limitations on your mobile device. Adjust the video quality from the app.
